Yoga with Alexis, certified Child & Family Yoga Teacher, CYT500
A little about my yoga practiceI am passionate about the practice and effects of yoga on children, both as individuals and as members of family and community. I have witnessed the regulatory effects that yoga techniques have on children and the opportunities they create for nonverbal communication and connection between family members. I have over 500 hours of training in teaching yoga to infants, toddlers, children, adults, and families of all ages. My formal yoga teaching experience includes inner city schools, community centers, libraries, and studio settings in both Chicago and San Francisco, serving children and families of diverse backgrounds since 2008.
I experience yoga as a way to playfully connect with ourselves and our loved ones. And to have fun! See below and check back for upcoming group classes in the Bay Area. For private classes please e-mail me. |

Kind Words
"I just finished a 6-week baby yoga and massage class with Alexis and it was wonderful! She always slept so well on the days we went to class. For me it was such a treat to have a little time to stretch and take care of my body and get to hang out with other new mamas. Alexis is an incredibly warm and caring person, so thoughtful and intuitive and a really fun teacher as well. The babies LOVED her. She was always willing to comfort a fussy baby or two so the mamas could get a chance to do some yoga. I will never forget the image of her bouncing on a yoga ball with two squirmy babies while also directing us into poses. Her class is just an awesome experience and I recommend it to all new parents and caregivers. I continue to do the baby yoga with my little one based on what Alexis taught us and it's a really sweet bonding experience that we both love. "

"Thank you Alexis! We really enjoyed your class and we practice your exercises daily. Thanks for organizing and taking care of the space or us! You have such a loving and gentle way. Keep up the great work!
Alexis took care of us and all our babies. I taught my nanny and husband what we learned too. I hope to return for the next 6 week session." ~ Kerolyn, mother of precrawler |
